Water Conservation Demonstration Garden - The Orange County Coastkeeper garden -- a native plant display, water conservation site and "water wise" demonstration garden for local homeowners -- is being installed on the SCC campus through several grants with the original funding from The Metropolitan Water District. Watch for volunteer opportunities, workshops and classes. View photos of a Wind Turbine Installation.
Technical Advisory Committee Meetings - Each of our Career Education programs has a Technical Advisory Committee composed of business and industry professionals active in their fields and employers, many of whom teach in our programs. We value and rely upon business and industry experts recommendations. We invite you to contact us if you are interested in participating in a Technical Advisory Committee. Click on this link to learn more about the purpose of Technical Advisory Committees (pdf).
Water Industry Educational Extravaganza - Sponsored by the AWWA (American Water Works Association), "Ed Ex" is held at SCC every August (Aug 15, 2012). Join us for water industry "contact hours" seminars on current and emerging topics. Until then, keep up-to-date with our "Hot Topics" listed on the Water Utility Science web site. If you are interested in a future career in the water utilities, attending this event is a great way to get started.
